Cyclone Pam also North of Vanuatu

Temotu authorities have received reports of damages in Reef Islands, Tikopia and Anuta.

“According to reports we received from Reefs islands over the weekend all food gardens and food trees were all blown away and destroyed by the heavy rain and strong wind.

 “Most of the people only have very little food supply which will last them this week. In two weeks’ time they should run out of food because all their food gardens and food trees were damaged,” Mr Tego said.

World vision - one year on


World Vision implemented relief and long term recovery projects to help the families get their lives back to normal. Projects focus on children’s development, providing access to clean water and improved hygiene, and establishing an Emergency Radio project.

Lomlom airport

From Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corp. Minister Folatalu told Parliament, Lomlom Airport has been completed and is proposed to be officially opened in January 2014.
